The motor identification form enables the club to keep a good record of its motor together with it’s maintenance and repair information.
It is also useful if a theft of equipment takes place as it will hold details that can forwarded to the police.
The benefits of the motor servicing schedule are:
Each time the IRB is used a log should be kept of its activity.
This helps monitor wear and tear and will help determine if additional servicing of the boat or motor is required. The boat logs should be monitored by the Club powercraft officer.
As part of normal operations and completion of the IRB log. It is mandatory that pre and post operation checklists are completed. This ensures that the IRB follows best practice procedures for use, extending its operational lifetime.
The Club IRB officer should ensure that both are completed to ensure good set up and maintenance of the IRB.
If challenges occur with the Boat or Motor the trouble shooting guide will help the coxwain and crewperson diagnose issues.
This will help keep the IRB operational and guide identifying the need for servicing and repair.
